Gordon's First Birthday

The other man in my life.

Oh, Gordon.

You are hyper and crazy. Silly and hilarious. Sweet and cuddly. You chew up the mail. You eat our dinner when we turn our backs for one second. You sleep just like us, with your head on the pillow and the rest of your little body under the sheets. You bark whenever a doorbell rings, even if it's on TV. You love to snuggle. You love treats. You love getting a bath and going on long walks.

You have been such a joy to have around since we adopted you in November. We love your puppy antics and your love for us.

And now you're a year old!

Happy birthday, Gordon! We love you!

Fun day in Frederick - Joe's First Post!

I finally wanted to add to the website, since it is "JOE and MK". Anyways, we had a great day in Frederick today. Well, not exactly Frederick, more like the outskirts. We were able to find a farm where we bought fresh milk and cheese. Milk in a bottle, who knew! Earlier in the day, we spent some time at a local event "Bark in the Park". Gordon was in heaven, and he made many new friends. We also went to a shop where we were able to find fresh rhubarb stalks for a rhubarb pie, something I have been dying for. It was a great day to spend with MK. I will be posting more so stay tuned!

More of Gordon...

Our dog is so stinking cute.  :)  I had my camera out doing some photo work, and I couldn't resist snapping of few of Gordon.

This is his new collar... Joe got it for him :)

On the couch :)

Loved the shadows in the living room yesterday

My Boys!

Poor Joe is still working this crazy 6pm to 6am shift (plus he has to work out *after* his shift- like, running six miles!) and he's being such a trooper about it.  He tries to help me in the morning after only a few hours of sleep... I have no idea how he's still standing after getting two hours of sleep the fast three nights!

Understandably, around 1pm, Joe collapses on the couch for an hour or two before he has to get ready for work again.  Little Gordon has been his faithful companion.  Yesterday the two fo them were so cute that I couldn't resist taking a few photos.  I love these two boys so much!

Gordon loves to snuggle under the covers

soooo cute.  I *love* this photo!

Just Another Day in the Battles Household...

My favorite boys :)
This photo melts my heart!

Poor Joe is exhausted from working his twelve-hour shifts, then coming home and getting 3 to 4 hours of sleep before he gets up and runs errands/gets stuff done around the house with me.  I cannot wait for it to be next month so he starts a NORMAL shift of 6am to 6pm instead of 6pm to 6am!

Since he doesn't work tonight, he was so excited to watch college basketball on the couch, but instead he's catching some much needed z's on that couch.  Gordon loves his daddy and is more than happy to snuggle in with him.

On another note... a week from today we move!

Gordon's First Hike!

Joe and I took advantage of the amazing weather and went on a hike!  We've been meaning to go for awhile, but our schedules stink and don't match up.  Joe had the day off, so we decided to go.  We also took Gordon with us.  We thought we might regret it, but he did great!

Gordon powered on through the hike better than Joe or I did- he has so much energy and had no problem hiking up and down the mountains in Gambrill State Park... Joe and I on the otherhand... well, we were exhausted!  It was only about a three mile hiking trail (they have trails there from 1 to 26 miles) but it was pretty steep.  Gordon loved sniffing absolutely everything and it was so cute how he'd run up ahead and gallop through the leaves.

After we got back from the hike, we watched some basketball and totally passed out.  Now it's time for dinner... and Joe is making a chocolate cake as I type- yay!

I love this photo!  Joe took it!

All Tuckered Out!

On our way to NY from IN, Joe took this adorable photo (with his new camera he got for Christmas, I might add!) of Gordon sleeping on my lap.  He is the cutest! Gotta love his little Green Bay jersey :)

Joe and the Furry Family

When Joe gets home from work, I love just lounging for a bit before we start dinner.  There's always some sort of furry creature on his lap.  I love it!
