Thanksgiving

We're Back Home!

We got back yesterday from Thanksgiving in Cincinnati.

It was great to spend time with Joe's sister Andi and her family.  And we got to meet our newest niece, Kaityln!

Uncle Joe and the girls :)

Cute Kylar

Joe and the baby- sooo sweet :)

Yes, I let Kylar use my camera.  Kind of scary, but she loved it.

Battles Family Reunion!

This past week I've been all around, but mostly in Michigan at Joe's family reunion.  It was actually a lot of fun!

Here are a few photos...

The cabins we stayed in

Joe at sunset :)

Joe at the winery... oh man, that place was fun!

the winery was beautiful!

Everyone!  I took this on a self-timer :)

Sara playing beer pong... yes, beer pong is played!

Sara and Liz... two of my new sisters :)

Kylar and Dan

cousins!

It got pretty hot, but I got some nice sun and I enjoyed meeting all my new relatives!  Our parents even had lunch together, which was really nice.  Thank goodness they get along :)

We decided to come home a day early, mostly because we wanted a day of vacation at home.  Thank God we did because Frankie was literally on his death bed.  He was gasping for air, his eyes were glassy, his nose was stuffed, and he was crying in pain.  Needless to say, I was very upset to come home to such a sick kitty!  We aren't too sure what's going on just yet, but last night when we got home I whisked him to the Emergency pet hospital and found out he had a temp of 108.  Sadly, he's still there :(  We have to bring him to our real vet tomorrow morning- we are hoping he is more stable- right now his temp is 103, which is still a fever but not 108!  Keep little Frankie in your thoughts- we love him!

Right now I'm just trying to catch up on e-mails (had 50 this morning, down to 6!), facebook, twitter, etsy, and all my rss feeds.  I also want to edit my latest wedding this week.  Also, my parents are coming this week for 4th of July-  so much going on!

Aaaaand, the Washington Post is going to send a reporter and photographer to follow me on a shoot this week- how exciting!!!  :)

Myles Meets my Parents

Lindsey brought baby Myles over today to meet my mom and dad- two weeks old and everyone loves him! :)

I thought it was so sweet how they interacted with him... but I told them not to get any ideas!  I have things to do before that happens!  :)  Give me four or five years... so baby Myles will have to tide them over... or Kevin & Rachel's baby that's due in November!  SO EXCITING!!!

I'm off to bed... it's midnight here and I am exhausted after a long day.  I did some really awesome and fun engagement shots today in Chesterton... will post when I get back home to Maryland tomorrow night!

My Mom's Garden

I spent a short amount of time in my mom's garden this morning, about 20 minutes, but I took a handful of images I wanted to share- I hope when I come home for a few days at the end of June that everything is totally in bloom!

Home!

I made it back to Cheesetown in record time!  Driving time was 8 hours, 40 minutes, and total was 9 hours, twenty minutes.  I love my GPS and its trip tracker :)

We had Gelsosomo's pizza tonight... mmm. :)

Tomorrow I'm doing Lindsey's baby photos- the little guy is only a few days old!!!  I cannot wait!

It's good to be home, but I miss my little family in Maryland already!  Joe and I talked on Skype tonight and I was glad to see him and the puppy in the video :)  He even got to say hello to grandma and grandpa :)

I am pretty excited to go to bed early *and* sleep in :)

Easter Photos

Totally forgot about these cute photos on Joe's point and shoot!  Here are Ethan and Grace being super cute in Frederick when they came for the day before heading on to Florida to see Grandma and Grandpa.

And a very short video of Ethan chasing a duck... I wish I had the whole thing on tape!

Happy Birthday, Joe!

We've had a great weekend so far!  Here's some photos... the rest are on Joe's point and shoot

Joe's cake... German chocolate... mmm!

marinated veggies on the grill- delicious!

Joe and his parents out where our wedding will be

The Thorpewood- can't wait to have our wedding here :)

Where the actual ceremony will be- YAY!

some beautiful magnolias

Everything is about to bloom in the mountains here... because it's so high up in elevation, this part of our town is about 2-3 weeks behind in blooms/weather.
I love being in the mountains :)

Lazy Easter

Well, Joe had to work and so did I, but there were two furry guys in our house who did get to relax yesterday... check out how silly they look!

No time to write about anything else, I am incredibly busy and have quite a few tight deadlines.  But enjoy these!

Happy New Year!

Happy New Year from New York!

Julie and Dave threw a rockin' party last night and we had a blast.
